Privacy Policy

Merist HQ (“Merist HQ,” “we”) provides connected-account analytics and, where platform scopes allow, authorized content publishing or upload workflows. This policy describes what data that service may process and how it is used.

Data we may process

• Account / profile data the platform returns after official OAuth, such as an account ID, display name, and public handle when provided. For TikTok, this may include basic profile information available under scopes such as user.info.basic.
• Performance / statistics data the platform returns, such as account-level stats and content metrics (for example views, likes, comments, and shares when available). For TikTok, this may include data available under scopes such as user.info.stats.
• Video / content metadata for the authorized account, such as content identifiers, titles/captions when provided, and related public video information used for history and performance workflows (for TikTok, including data available under video.list).
• Content submitted for publishing or upload when the operator uses Merist to upload a draft or publish to a connected account (for TikTok, under scopes such as video.upload and/or video.publish when those scopes are authorized and granted).
• Authorization tokens / credentials issued by the platform (access and refresh tokens). These are stored only on Merist’s servers, encrypted at rest, and are not shown on these public pages or in ordinary product screens.

Data we do not collect

• Platform passwords.
• Payment card numbers.
• Metrics a platform does not actually return. Missing values stay missing; they are not filled with zero.

How we obtain data

Data comes from authorized third-party platforms (including YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, and X when connected) after the account owner completes that platform’s official authorization, and from content the operator submits for connected-account publishing or upload. Merist does not scrape passwords or use unofficial logins.

Use

Data is used to provide connected-account publishing and analytics functionality: identifying the authorized profile, measuring published content, organizing performance information, comparing content, uploading or publishing to the connected account when scopes allow, and supporting later creative decisions. It is not sold. X Direct Messages are not requested. Merist does not post to accounts that have not authorized the app.

TikTok-specific notes

When a TikTok account is connected, Merist may process TikTok profile data, video/content metadata, and performance/statistics data needed for the product features described on the TikTok integration page. Authorization tokens are handled securely and are not publicly exposed. Users may revoke TikTok authorization in TikTok’s settings and may disconnect TikTok inside Merist.

Retention and revocation

Tokens can be deleted by disconnecting the platform connection in Merist. You can also revoke the app in TikTok, Google, Meta, or X account settings. After disconnect or revocation, Merist cannot retrieve new analytics or perform publishing actions for that account using the revoked grant.
