Terms of Service

These terms cover Merist HQ (“the service”), operated by Merist HQ. The service helps operators connect authorized social accounts, retrieve permitted analytics, and — where platform scopes and product configuration allow — upload or publish content to those connected accounts through official platform authorization.

The service

After you authorize a platform account through that platform’s official login, the service may:

• Read account identity and content performance metrics the platform exposes to authorized apps;
• Organize those results so operators can compare published content;
• Upload content as a draft or publish content to the connected account when the platform has approved the relevant scopes and you have granted those permissions.

TikTok Content Posting scopes such as video.upload and video.publish are used only when TikTok has authorized them for the app and the account owner has granted them. See TikTok integration.

Authorization

Connected platforms are authorized by the account owner. You should only connect accounts you are allowed to authorize. Access is limited to the permissions/scopes you and the platform grant. You may revoke access at any time in the platform’s app-permissions settings and by disconnecting the account in Merist.

Publishing boundaries

• The service does not post to accounts that have not explicitly authorized the app.
• Connecting an account does not transfer ownership of that account or its content to Merist.
• The service does not ask for or store your platform password.
• The service does not sell access to your account.
• The service does not request X Direct Message access.
• Any write/publish capability on a given platform stays limited to what that platform and the operator have authorized. These public pages do not themselves publish content.

Accuracy of metrics

The service reports values returned by the authorized platform. If a platform does not provide a metric, the service leaves it unavailable rather than inventing a number.

Acceptable use

Do not use the service to access accounts you do not control or are not authorized to connect. Do not attempt to use the service to publish to accounts that have not granted the required permissions.

Changes

Merist may update these terms. The date at the top of this page is the latest revision.
